Two regular guys. Regular full time jobs by day. Game developers by night... and weekends! Zero flashy budgets. And a belief that's stayed the same since day one: games should be fun to make and fun to play.
That's Orthrus Interactive! Founded in March 2026, based in the Greater Cincinnati area, we're pouring everything we've got into our very first mobile release: a daily word puzzle game that's been eating up our nights, our whiteboards, and probably many hours of sleep we'll get back eventually... or not.
Here's the thing about a two-person independent duo, you can't hide behind a big feature list or a marketing budget you don't have (we checked; we don't have one). What you can do is obsess. Over player experience. Over pacing. Over sound. Over that one puzzle that isn't quite satisfying yet. We test relentlessly, we tune constantly, and we always start from the same question: what does the player feel in this moment? Everything else gets built around the answer.
Our debut title, Final Link, was slated for release this Summer, but we kept identifying more and more areas that weren't up to our standards. We'd discover an area that made us say, "Hey, this would be fun if we added this." So we did it! We look at everything from the player's perspective, and if it's not good enough for you, it's not good enough for us. Our current plan is to launch in the Fall of 2026, and honestly, we cannot wait for you to play it.
But we'll let you in on a secret: this isn't a one-game studio. While the puzzle game has our full attention right now, our brains don't really do "one thing at a time." There's a running list of ideas scribbled on post-it notes and listed cell by cell in spreadsheets. We have plans for more puzzle games, arcade-style quick-hit fun, adventure games with real heart, an RPG... all waiting for their turn. Consider this the opening chapter, not the whole story.
We believe great games come from solid mechanics, a little creativity, and a lot of heart, not a big budget (which, again, we notably do not have). Actually, I should probably double check with my partner to see if we have any budget at all.
Every game we make is crafted with care, tested obsessively, and built to spark a little joy, and maybe, if we've done our job right, a healthy little obsession, in your day.
We're just getting started. Thanks for being here for it.
